The Climate Action Data Portal is an online resource for climate planning data for the San Diego region. "Climate planning" refers to the process of preparing for and reducing the effects of climate change in local planning.
The Climate Action Data Portal builds off of the SANDAG Regional Climate Action Planning Framework (ReCAP), a guidance document that establishes regionally consistent methods for climate planning. Jurisdictions in the San Diego region use this framework to identify best practices for preparing, updating, or implementing a Climate Action Plan.
The Climate Action Data Portal currently includes vehicle miles traveled (VMT) data for all of the jurisdictions in the region, as well as greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory and climate activity data for 15 of the 16 cities that are part of the SANDAG Roadmap Program which encompasses SANDAG’s climate planning services.
